About Habra Bio-Chemic Medical College & Hospital And Research Institute
A PROFILE HABRA BIOCHEMIC MEDICAL COLLEGE & HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH INSTITUTE.
The system of treatment by Bio-Chemic Medicines has created a new era in the Medical World since its inception, similarly, Habra Bio-Chemic Medical College & Hospital And Research Institute has opened a new chapter Physicians of Habra, hit upon a plan to establish a Bio-Chemic Medical College and their plan came into materialisation in the year of 1981 by the establishment of the College at Kachari Bari Road of Habra with only 15 students.. Today this College has turned into a glorious orientation of Habra which is already decorated with the different types of Schools, Colleges, Govt. Offices and so on.
To achieve the present position of this Institution, the College authority shall never forget the valuable and commendable services rendered by some generous persons of eminence.
By the untiring efforts of the Governing Body and the Teaching staff of the College respectively, the number of taught of the College begins to increase enormously and due to paucity of space the College was shifted to Bengal Christian Council, Habra Centre, for better accommodation with the whole hearted Co-operation and collaboration of Late P. K. Roy.
After a lapse of 4 years, the College was further shifted to Habra Model High School to provide better accommodation facilities for the increasing number of students. The co-operation will be gratefully remembered by the College management for all the times to come.
The college authority had noble contemplation to have a separate entity of the college of its own since its inception, and with this end in view, the teaching staff sacrificed a lot of amounts by accepting only a negligible amount of remuneration. In the year of 1986 a plot of land of 6 Kathas was purchased at Prafullanagar beside the Jessore Road, very adjacent to Railway Gate No. 2, on the strength of accumulated fund, financial assistance made by the students from their tuition fees and also some public donation. The lay out of the foundation stone was celebrated by Prof. Pranab Bhattacharjee. Chairman, Habra Municipality, on 2nd May 1989 There after the construction work has-been continuing and by the grace of almighty God, the floor of the college building was partly completed. The solemnisation of the opening of the college was accomplished by Mr. Nandadulal Bhattacharjee, Shabhadipati, North 24 Parganas on 17th Feb, 1991. The class works of the college have been going on here thereafter. The college authority had tried their level best to complete the construction work of the 2nd floor, where the practical and Laboratory works of the students are going on.
Now the College is affiliated by Bio-Chemic Education Grant Commission Govt of India (BEGC - Govt of India) and “B.K. KAR ALLIED HEALTH INSTITUTION” is affiliated by BHARAT SEVAK SAMAJ (BSS)
History
Biochemistry has its birth in 1832, when the following brief statement was written in Stapf's Archiv, "All the essential component parts of the human body are great remedies." Another record was made in the same journal in 1846: "All constituents of the human body act on such organs principally where they have a function."
At a later period, Grauvogl, in his Text-book, took some notice of those remarks.
In 1873, Dr. Med. Schuessler, of Oldenburg, Germany, published an article entitled:-"A Shortened Therapeutics," in which he said: "About a year ago I intended to final out, by experiments on the sick, if it were not possible at all, with some substances that are the natural, i.e., physiological function remedies."
Dr. Lorbachor, of Leipzing, made some criticisms on this article, and called forth a detailed reply from Schuessler, which ran through seven members of the journal. He denominated the new theory the "Abridged System of Therapeutics.
Later, Dr. C. Hering, one of the great apostles of the homeopathic school, wrote a small work on the "Twelve Biochemic Remedies," and "recommended for investigation" this interesting and valuable discovery. Several editions of the work were published in rapid succession.
The twelfth edition of Schueessler's work was translated by J. T. O'connor, M.D., and another by M. Docetti Walker M.D., of Dundee, Scotland, which was considerable enlarged by the addition of a appendix, popularizing the biochemic method.
In the early spring of 1897, "The Biochemic System of Medicine," by Geo. W. Carey, M.D., was published by F. August Luyties, St. Louis, Mo., and has already run through many large editions. And of the above works were written especially for the medical profession and the author believes he is the first to give to the people a thoroughly domestic treatise on the subject of Biochemistry.
Since 1832, when the great key-note of Biochemistry was struck ("all the essential component parts of the human body are great remedies".), the subject has been thoroughly investigated and endorsed by thousands of broad-minded, progressive physicians of the old and new continents.
What is Biochemistry?
The word biochemistry is derived from a Greek word--bios (meaning life)-and chemistry; therefore, its true meaning is the chemistry of life, But usage has given the word a different signafication, and the following has been given as a more accurate definition: "That branch of science which treats of the reposition of animal and vegetable matter; the process by which the various fluide and issues are formal; the nature, cause and correction of the abnormal condition called disease."
Professore Moleschott, of Rome, says (and, indeed, it was these words which gave Schuessler his inspiration): "The structure and vitality of the organs depend upon the presence of the necessary quantities of inorganic constituents.
"On this fact is based the high estimation in which of late years the subject of the relative preparation of the inorganic substances to the individual parts of the body have been held."
"This estimation neither proudly despises any fact, non-fosters, on the other hand, futile hopes: but promises both to Agriculture and Medicine a brilliant future.
"In the face of such positive facts, it can no longer be denied that the substances which remain after incineration or combustion of the tissues-- the ashes-are as important and essential to the inner composition, and consequently to the 'form giving' and 'kind determining' bases of the tissues, as those substances which are volatilized during combustion.
"A glue furnishing base and bone-earth are essential constituents of bone; without either there can be no true bone; so also, there can be no cartilage without cartilage-salt; nor blood without iron; nor saliva without potassium chloride."
The human body is composed of two kinds of matter -organic and inorganic The forther greatly preponderates, but it does not follow that it is more essential to life than the latter, indeed, the organic could not perform its proper function without the inorganic. These are not mere theories but scientifically proven facts. It has been discovered that the human body will survive for a shorter period of time from the deprivation of inorganic (mineral) salts than of the other (organic) constituents of the diet.
The twelve inorganic (mineral) salts are all essential to the proper growth and development of every part of the system. They are:
It is upon the relative quantities of these two materials that life and health depend.
An analysis of the blood shows it to contain organic and inorganic matter which is constantly being built into the human structure.
The organic constituents are sugar, fats and albuminous substance. The inorganic constituents are water and certain cell-salts. The relative quantities in the human organism are about as follows; water, seventeenths; cell-sals, one twentieth, and organic matter the reminder. Being so small in quantity, the cell- salts have, until lately, been thought to be of little importance. But now it is known that they are the vital portion of the body, the workers, the builders; that water and organic substances are simply inert matter used by these salts in building the cells of the body.
The twelve inorganic (mineral) salts are all essential to the proper growth and development of every part of the system.

Should a deficiency occur in one or more of these workers, some abnormal or "diseased" conditions arise, and according as they manifest themselves in different ways and in different parts of the body, they have been given various names. Every disease which affects humanity reveals a lack of one or more of these inorganic cell-salts. Health and strength can be maintained only so long as the system is properly supplied with these cell-workers or tissue-builders.
Dr. Schuessler says: - "The inorganic substance in the blood and tissues are sufficient to heal all diseases which are curable at all. If the remedies are used according to the symptoms, the desired and will be gained by means of the application of natural laws."
Dr. Schuessler's Biochemistry seeks to ascertain what salts are lacking and supply them in just the form needed. Any disturbance in the motion of these cell-salts in living tissues, constituting disease, can be rectified and the equilibrium re-established by administering the same salts in small quantities. This is brought about by virtue of chemical affinity in the domain of histology. Therefore, this therapeutic procedure me is styled by Dr. Schuessler, the Biochemic Method, and stress is land on the fact that it is in hormonally with well known facts and laws in physiological chemistry and alive sciences.
